@ameliasahm03: ok i'm making this because i wish someone had sent it to me before i got home from the hospital bc i was SO not prepared for what week 1 actually looked like and i genuinely thought something was wrong with me 😭 like everyone talks about labor. everyone has opinions about your birth plan. everyone asks about the nursery. and then you get home and it's just. silent. and terrifying. and nobody warned you about day 3. nobody told you about the hormone crash. nobody mentioned that you'd be sobbing at 2am not even knowing why and just sitting there in the dark alone wondering if this is postpartum depression or just. tuesday. the thing that actually helped me was finding out i wasn't the only one awake. like literally. i downloaded Beacon and it shows you other moms who are up right now in real time and i cannot explain why that helped so much but it did. something about knowing another mom is sitting in the dark feeding her baby at 3am too just. made me feel less insane lol day 3 is the one i want every single pregnant mom to know about before she gets home. it has an actual name (day 3 blues) and it's SO common and yet nobody says anything about it until you're in it crying on the bathroom floor wondering what is happening to your body also the part about your house being full of people and still feeling completely alone?? that one hit different for me. everyone is there for the baby. nobody really asks how YOU are. and then they all go home and it's just you and this tiny human and you're like. ok. now what. if you're in week 1 right now i just want you to know you're in the hardest part. it doesn't stay this hard. you're not broken. you're just in the part nobody warned you about and that's not your fault 🤍 #mom #MomsofTikTok #momlife #baby #newborn
