There is a strategy I use on whiplash rollercoasters. I keep my head pressed firmly to the back of the seat.

51 now, 49 when I last went on it, accidentally in the last seat. I’d still ride in the front or middle. But that ride at the back, I was seriously afraid it might hurt me.

Smaller brain bleeds can be nearly asymptomatic, or manifest as headaches, nausea, “migraines”, tiredness etc. Most likely far more people have been affected by this ride and some have minor brain damage because of it, never even knowing. This ride should never open again.

I used to work for a concussion specialist 15 years ago and a patient asked her if you can get a concussion from a roller coaster and she said very much yes, same principle as the force from football. The brain shakes in the skull. Never forgot that.

The last time I went to six flags magic mountain in 2024 I had the WORST headache all day long and it quite literally felt like my brain was being shaken around in my head. I have ridden roller coasters all my life and never been affected but I’m afraid to get on one again after that experience.

This is why they post signs warning people not to ride coasters if you have ANY conditions that would cause permanent damage. I’m so sick of people coming to theme parks, riding coasters when they have limitations. Then when something happens they sue the theme park. 🙄🤦🏻♀️
