@findingmelissa: This is something I’ve had to learn over the last few months, and I’m still learning it. Ive also learned to really give myself a lot of grace with that because I don’t think surrender is ever going to be one of those lessons you learn once and suddenly you’re good at it forever. Because I know that life changes. Circumstances change. Something new happens and then you find yourself having to release control in a completely different way than you did before. But I will say, it has definitely gotten easier for me. And what’s interesting is that I can’t even say it’s because my circumstances have gotten easier. In a lot of ways, they haven’t. I just don’t respond to the uncertainty the same way I used to. I’m learning that I can only be responsible for what God has put in my hands. I can do my part, be faithful with what’s in front of me, and trust Him with everything I can’t control. Some days I do that really well and I’m super proud of myself. Other days I catch myself trying to pick everything back up again. And I think that’s where the grace comes in. I’m still learning how to surrender. I’m just recognizing a little faster when I’m carrying something that was never mine to control in the first place.
