@whatsamortgage_: 🏠 You may be paying PMI every month that you no longer need. FHFA Director Bill Pulte recently announced a move involving Fannie Mae that could make homeowners more aware when they may be eligible to cancel private mortgage insurance (PMI). But I wouldn’t wait for someone to contact you. If you have a conventional loan and your home has increased in value, contact your mortgage servicer and ask: 👉 “Can I have my home valued to see if I qualify to remove my PMI?” Depending on your loan and servicer requirements, they may use a Broker Price Opinion (BPO), appraisal, or another valuation method. If you qualify and the PMI comes off, that’s extra money staying in your pocket every month — without refinancing out of your existing interest rate. ⚠️ FHA mortgage insurance has different rules.
