@coachstas: Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that the United States has invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to the G20 leaders' summit in Miami this December, opening the door to a potential face-to-face encounter with President Donald Trump. Speaking to reporters in New York during the UN General Assembly, after meeting Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Rubio framed the invitation as a chance for Putin to engage not only with Trump but with other world leaders, and said Washington hopes he will accept. Rubio acknowledged he does not know exactly how many times Trump and Putin have spoken by phone, estimating at least a dozen conversations. He stressed that the ideal Trump-Putin meeting would deliver a concrete outcome and require extensive groundwork beforehand. The Kremlin has not confirmed whether Putin will travel to Miami.
