Our mothers sometimes enabled bad behaviour by keeping quiet, covering for their husbands, and making excuses for them. Some men grew up seeing that and now expect their wives to do the same. But this generation is learning differently. No more enabling men. No more covering up bad behaviour in the name of marriage. You are an adult, and every action has consequences. If a man chooses to disrespect his marriage, he should be responsible for the consequences of his choices. His wife shouldn't have to carry his shame or defend his behaviour. What our mothers tolerated doesn't have to be what our generation normalizes.
