So I stopped the video and checked every single date. Turns out the Romans were gone a thousand years before the first slave ship reached the Guinea coast. Turns out Britain built this trade for 250 years, then only started dismantling it once it stopped making them money. Turns out the enslaved got nothing when it ended; the slaveholders got paid, and Britain didn't finish paying off that loan until 2015. This isn't about "hating Britain."
