@darlenewithladder: Apparently my muscles weren’t impressed by the fact that I found a brand-new “life-changing” workout on TikTok every four days 😂 Repeating the same lifts used to feel like I wasn’t doing enough. I thought a good workout needed new exercises, different equipment and at least one movement I’d never seen before. But if you constantly change everything, it becomes almost impossible to tell whether you’re actually progressing. Repeating key exercises gives you the chance to: ✨ Improve your technique ✨ Add another rep ✨ Increase the weight gradually ✨ Notice when the same weight feels easier ✨ Track genuine progress instead of relying on soreness And progressive overload doesn’t mean lifting heavier every single session. Sometimes progress is better control, a deeper range of motion, cleaner form or completing more reps with the same weight. Coach Shelby’s Ladder programming still changes and progresses over time—but there’s enough repetition for me to actually improve before moving on. New exercises can be fun. They’re just not automatically more effective. Unfortunately, doing the “boring” basics consistently really does work. Deeply inconvenient information for anyone who enjoys reinventing her entire routine every Monday 🫠 #LadderApp #ProgressiveOverload #StrengthTraining #WomenWhoLift
