Hoima City Stadium is giving us a glimpse of what Uganda’s AFCON 2027 experience could look like🥳🥳 I had the privilege of getting an exclusive look inside the stadium during a media familiarisation tour with @Uganda Tourism Board and there’s quite a lot to take in. Here are some of the highlights 👇🏾 🏟️ 20,000-seat main stadium — imagine these stands filled with football fans from across Africa during AFCON 2027. What I witnessed at the first CAF confederation match on Sunday was truly impressive 👏🏽 ✨ VIP & VVIP experience — the stadium features 12 skyboxes, each accommodating up to 12 guests, as well as a Presidential Suite. The skyboxes also have dedicated kitchen facilities. 🛋️ VIP lounges — designed to give guests a more comfortable and elevated way to experience match day. I got to experience the lounge during a game, and it was definitely a different way to enjoy the action. ♿️ Accessibility — the stadium has 59 sanitary units, including 13 accessible units for persons with disabilities. 🏊🏾 Beyond football — the wider facility also includes a 2,000-seat mini arena, a 25m × 12.5m semi-Olympic swimming pool, basketball and volleyball courts, and a running track. 🚗 Parking — there are 839 parking spaces within the facility. With AFCON 2027 bringing the continent’s biggest football tournament to Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, it’s exciting to see the facilities being prepared to welcome fans from across Africa.
