They only invested in technology because they didn’t want to rely on people, it’s a weak position because it further weakened the thing needed most. To suggest otherwise is simply paradoxical. It’s like me saying if the Ottomans invented in technology they would still rule now however they relied on people and bred generations of stronger more disciplined people do didn’t need as much technology to rely on.
