always preferd john over arthur , no hate ofc arthur one of the best video game protagonists , BUT he isnt very realistic, in that time people weren't alot like him , john is way more realistic amd became even more in rdr1 , he didnt care for anyone but his family killed everyone who got in his way for his family thats way more realistic, still arthur is a really good character

Not only is John better than Arthur but RDR is better than RDR2 as well. The bleak tone and John’s deadpan sense of humor bounces off the rest of the cast so well in RDR. It’s genuinely a lot funnier and in my opinion a lot better written than RDR2- even having a lot more nuance to it.
