The most interesting one I found is a West African/Yoruba-related story involving a figure explicitly called “the demon Polo.” In a retelling sourced to M. I. Ogumefu's 1929 collection, Polo is described as a supernatural executioner associated with Orisha Oko: people found guilty of practicing harmful magic were beheaded by Polo. �
