@techniahqrobot: Tiangong Omni is starting to look less like a robot learning to run and more like an actual runner on the track. Watch the first few strides. It accelerates without the upper body swinging wildly, keeps a steady running rhythm, moves its arms with the leg cycle and continues down the lane without stopping to recover its balance. I replayed the opening several times because the transition into the run looks much cleaner than the stiff, short steps we still see from many humanoids. Running is a hard test for a humanoid. Every stride creates an impact, both feet repeatedly leave the ground, and the controller has very little time to correct body position before the next contact. There is still plenty we cannot judge from a 13 second clip, including speed, distance, autonomy and repeatability.
