Thank you for sharing this. It’s very interesting to hear this from the perspective of a black man in the north. I grew up in Arkansas schools in the 80’s. We were still doing desegregation here through part of the 90’s. We moved out of the district, not because my parents cared about the diversity, we lived by the air base, but because there were 4 of us, and they were going to ship all four of us to different schools for desegregation. I was going to be bussed 2 hours each way. That’s when the parents moved us. To the WHITEST town I’ve ever seen. I literally came home and asked if the klan was here. It scared me to only see two black people all day. 🤣 Thanks for sharing.
