@sn_aqeel: Japan’s Immigration Services Agency (ISA) plans to work with other ministries to strengthen crackdowns on unauthorized foreign employment, potentially starting as early as October. ISA officials will join construction and demolition site inspections, where they can legally request residence cards—an authority local inspectors do not have. The ISA also plans joint inspections at plastic-waste and scrap-metal facilities and awareness efforts in the agricultural sector during busy harvest periods. The measures are part of the Justice Ministry’s “Zero Illegal Immigrants” initiative, following data showing that more than 70% of foreign nationals subject to deportation last year had engaged in illegal work.
