@perkinsights: Since we didn’t get CLARITY passed, I decided to head to El Salvador and get educated on how other countries are approaching digital-asset regulation. I was there as El Salvador’s National Commission of Digital Assets (CNAD) celebrated its third anniversary, which is basically 30 years in crypto years. El Salvador created CNAD as a specialized regulatory body focused on digital assets. Its team brings traditional financial and regulatory experience together with specialized knowledge of digital assets, including blockchain, tokenization, governance and security. It raises an interesting question for the United States: Could a specialized digital-asset regulator be part of the answer here, especially if the goal is clear rules that allow everyday people to participate? #CLARITY #DigitalAssets #Crypto #Blockchain #Tokenization @DAS sv
Yes!!!! Love the global regulatory experimentation you’re highlighting here! My dream in the US regulatory structure is that we finally(!) have our own tech regulator (it’s mortifying on the global stage that we don’t) and for them to start advancing tech regulations in the US, rather than every non-tech regulator regulating tech from their unrelated expertise. Then tech experts will be within the government, not just “advising” the government. Because they will always be, be definition, biased if they come exclusively from the outside.
