@vern_pop: I used to think being needed in every part of my business meant I was doing a good job. In reality, I had built myself a successful but extremely demanding job. A simple test: What happens if you step away for one week? Do client projects stop moving? Do leads go unanswered? Does revenue slow down? Does your team wait for you to make every decision? If everything pauses when you do, the business doesn’t need more of your effort. It needs fewer dependencies on you. That starts with identifying what genuinely requires your strengths, documenting repeatable tasks while you’re doing them, and handing work over before you’re already desperate for help. I’m currently rebuilding my own agency around this idea: I want to lead the company without personally holding every part of it together.
