I never lost as many tools as when I worked on my fj40 landcruiser. those flat fenders are perfect for setting stuff and forgetting. I've even taken off and watched half full coffee cups go tumbling onto the street.

the best way to lose something is to drop it in your shop, watch it all the way down to the floor then go grovelling on your hands and knees looking for it only to give up and find it a month or so later across the room while doing something entirely different. 🤣
