@funwiththejohnsons: I love fall. The outings, the crafts, the traditions, the little seasonal things that make this time of year feel special. But I’m realizing that enjoying the season and trying to do everything the season has to offer are two very different things. So this year, I’m giving myself permission to make it easier. We can grab the nuggets instead of making something from scratch. The craft can look nothing like the picture. We can skip an event because we’d rather stay home. We can choose the traditions that actually feel like us. And somebody else can hold the camera sometimes because Mama was there too. I still want the memories. I just don’t want the pressure that sometimes sneaks in with trying to make every moment memorable. Less pressure. More presence. That’s the kind of fall I’m choosing.
