Creators on TikTok know more about hEDS than the medical practitioners that I’ve seen 😳

I honestly think that it needs to be "There is nothing that you can do to cure hEDS, but there are things that you can do to manage the symptoms". 1. neither, drugs 2. compression garments/braces 3. Hybrid medical mattress + an electronic bed, mattress = Alaise 4. both, and a nap 5. phsyiotherapy and prolotherapy 6. drugs (ldn, ketotifen, ausfam, iron, magnesium) + prolotherapy (its nerve hydrodissection use [tldr, its like resetting your pc/phone]) and then being more aware of what I eat. Granted I have a bunch of comorbidities. 7. My problem child? My SIJ and the base of my neck, followed closely by my left shoulder. 8. What really helped? a shower chair, forearm crutches, a wheelchair, prolotherapy, physio, OT, moving to a colder more temperate climate, stopping pushing myself through things unnecessarily.

I haven’t officially been diagnosed with HED but my mom tried giving me diagnosed between the ages of three and seven through my endocrinologist for my other chronic illness, which includes Addisons and endocrinologist just downplay the symptoms for me. I would say Squishmallow heat, and although I haven’t tried, the cheap compression usually helps.

1 ) heat (also have RA - but in summer it’s ice) 2) Compression (also have POTS) 3 ) Pillow and a pillow in my knees 4 ) salt 5) Pilates (but with weight dumbbells - helps resistance and stability so much ) 6) nutrients and supplements (I live for creatine, magnesium, 130 grams of protein, and a whole food diet (also have MCAS 😅)

1. heat; 2. compression; 3. pregnancy pillow (but really neither, I have a bunch of regular pillows with different support levels to swap around as needed) 4. sodium if from heat, sugar if I forgot to eat 🤣; 5. pilates; 6. supplements and nutrition for day to day progress, pharmaceuticals for acute issues/extreme flares; 7. my kneeeeees (one in particular) 😒 I'm convinced it being so loosely goosey causes a chain of other joints and muscles being mad to compensate

My rheumatologist gave me this book!! It goes into a deep-dive into hypermobility in easy to understand terms. I barely got it today and I already love it!

I have HSD apparently its not hEDS because noone in my family has been diagnosed (that is the only reason I tick the rest of the diagnostic criteria 🙄) ive been seeing a rheumatology physio for over a year to try and help me learn how to exercise safely as I always end up injured and now cant walk around my house without pain. She keeps saying deal with past mental trauma and it will hurt less. I tried, couldn't find any trauma to heal from. I finally convince her to help me and she says no amount of exercise will stabilise my joints so I left feeling like what is the point in trying

Compression garments make my joints feel like what I think normal people's joints feel like, not like they're about to pop out if I breathe wrong

I have been trying to find out for six years if I have HEDS. My beighton score is a 9. I have dental crowding. I have a high palate. Is it possible all 200 of my doctors have could have missed that I have HEDS?

What’s working: removing gluten, using heat, and k tape. Sodium has made me come alive. My cervical c1-c7 would be nice to not hurt . 😳 😢 Resistant band training !!
