I mean….they didn’t invent the style of sweater but they did create the branding of naming it “rollneck” in the late 80s and popularize the style. that’s definitely their trademark 🤷🏻♀️

i mean if someone was gonna buy a sweater, they are gonna buy it? does the TM after a name really influence you that much? if the sweater is ugly or doesn’t fit, having TM after the name is not gonna make me want to buy it anyway??

I learned this about TM when someone tried to tell me to stop using a (very common) term because they filed for trademark. Turned out they were turned down because it’s a common term (and you can’t stop someone from using a term just because you filed anyway)… and they still put TM everywhere 😂

So I went to Google to search that a couple weeks ago. And when I clicked on it, it went back directly to my app and it would not let me look it on my app. Unless I signed in and then gave them permission to track me.

What a weird reaction. The vast majority of people associate rollnecks with J Crew because they DID originate them back in the 80s/90s. They have the trademark, why not use it. I swear people are so weird
