I feel so bad for him he’s only 18 in a different country he should have a translator like they do to other non native speakers. English is hard to learn as a non native speaker . relate a little bit since English is My second language.

i don’t understand why the nhl doesn’t have translators for the players who clearly need them. even for players who speak english well, it’s much easier to fully express yourself in your first language. there’s no other job where you’d be required to have this much media presence and NOT have a translator. i feel so bad for players like ivar, teenagers in a new country and they’re expected to learn a new and difficult language very quickly AND play well

I actually find it quite degrading to the players who aren’t native English speakers to not be able to get a translator if they want to. the nhl is STACKED with money so wdym you can’t employ a couple of translators to help out??

get him a translator rn…matter of fact give all of the players who are more comfortable speaking their own language a translator so they can speak comfortably and so we can get to know them better😭
