I had an ear wax removal done at the doc cause it closed my ear canal. They didn’t know it was attached to my ear drum and yanked it out along with some of the drum. When I tell you I SCREEEEEAMED 😭 it was bleeding for quite a while after. The pain was insane 😳

when i was a child i was “cleaning” my ears with a bobby-pin and picked up the landline phone to answer it, forgot i had the pin in my ear and slammed it down into my eardrum with the phone. i wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy

Had an ear infection one night when I as 12, I was taking a quick nap and woke up to immense pain, woke my parents up to take me to the er and they said no wait till morning, so I did. I waited for 10 whole hours in pain, in and out of sleep. Only to go to the doctor and them to tell me my eardrum had burst and now I can’t hear outta my left ear. Now they take me more serious 💔

When i was 17 i had an ear infection that burned a hole in my ear drum. The pain was so bad. The first dr told me i had a mild ear infection then prescribed me oxycodone. My ear was leaking puss and blood for a month. The second dr i went to realized what was happening and cut a hole in my healthy ear drum to realize the pressure. I still can barely hear out of the ear

So when I was young and stupid, I got new shoes. There was the little bags with small balls in it, I opened one and put 3 in my ear. After a while my ear started hurting and eventually my ear drum burst and no one could figure out why eventually they took out two but my ear would not stop hurting then it started bleeding and puss would build up finally they sent me to a specialist that took out the final ball, I literally cried so much because during the whole process my ear hurt so bad and it took years to take the balls out till this day I regret it so much but I was a dumbass kid lol

When I was a kid, my sister, some childhood friends, and I were playing doctor. Well my sister was the doctor and I was the patient, and she was doing this, but had the “bright” idea to shove it into my ear as HARD as she could🤠 lots of screaming and crying obviously, luckily no permanent hearing damage, but for sure was ruptured and the whole ear canal scabbed over. Worst pain of my life and I would never wish it on anyone. And no, I do not ever use cotton swabs near my ears 😩

My older sister forced me down and tried cleaning my ears when we were way younger and accidentally poked my left ear drum with a q tip, I still have some minor hearing issues in that ear and it’s been almost 20 years

I did this while cleaning my ears with a Bobby pin as a kid. Boyyy did that sh!t hurt. I’m still traumatized till this day. I am so cautious when I do it now

One time, when I was sick, I went to the doctor and told her I couldn’t hear out of my right ear. She told me she couldn’t clean it out because I was driving home and would be dizzy afterward. So, I took it upon myself to clean my ear out when I got home so I could hear again. I prepared the bulb and ear drops, cleaned out my ear, only to realize I had somehow cleaned out my ENTIRE EARDRUM,I was in excruciating pain. 😅😭

I ruptured my ear drum with one of these right here about 3ish years ago, worst pain EVER. I ran out of qtips and I hate wet ears so i wrapped a rag around the end to try and get the water out and it poked right in through the rag as soon as I put it in my ear 🥲 should’ve just rolled up toilet paper I wasn’t thinking

I got a steroid shot THROUGH my eardrum a couple years ago. Awful experience. More the mental image of "oh my fucking god theres a needle in my ear going through my eardrum" doing the work. Physical sensation was a very aggressive pop with pressure and some pain followed by stimulated dizziness as the liquid is injected behind your eardrum into your vestibular system

My husband was mowing the lawn a few months ago and was mowing around a small tree, he turned his head turned it right into a branch, (like twig sized) and it went down his ear and stabbed his ear drum. I felt so bad but I also felt bad for myself that I had to know about it
