@kiriky8: Rize Kamishiro is one of the most important characters in the Tokyo Ghoul manga by Sui Ishida, even though she spends much of the story away from the main events. Her presence has a huge influence on Ken Kaneki's life and on the direction of the entire story. Rize is introduced as an attractive and seemingly ordinary woman who meets Kaneki at a café, but her true identity is that of a powerful ghoul with a dangerous appetite. Rize belongs to the group of ghouls known for hunting humans, and she has little concern for the consequences of her actions. When she meets Kaneki, she pretends to share his interest in literature and uses this connection to get close to him. Her real intention is to eat him. The encounter becomes the turning point of Kaneki's life when a construction accident interrupts her attack and leaves both of them seriously injured. Kaneki survives because organs from Rize are transplanted into his body. This procedure turns him into a one-eyed ghoul and creates the foundation for his entire journey. Rize therefore remains connected to Kaneki even after her apparent death. Her kagune and kakuhou become part of his body, and the consequences of the transplant continue to affect him throughout the manga. Rize's past is gradually revealed through the manga. She was connected to the underground world of ghouls and had a complicated history involving the organization V and the Washuu family. Her connection to Souta, later revealed as Furuta Nimura, becomes especially significant because Furuta is involved in the events surrounding her body and the transplantation of her kakuhou into Kaneki. Rize Kamishiro is therefore much more than the ghoul who attacked Kaneki in the manga. She is the source of his transformation and a key link between several major events.
