This kind of reminds me of that one episode of Mad Men. Where Betty lowkey goated her friend and to having an affair with this guy at their country club. On the one hand, Betty was still very much in the wrong. Because it was very obvious that she knew what she was doing. And on the other hand. Betty was sorta right, she technically didn't make her actually do it.
