My records were looked into by “family friend” who worked in records department at a local hospital to me. They used to look at people’s records who they “knew”. They would talk about it like it’s normal, absolutely shocking

I’ve been on NHS panels where staff have been sacked for doing this. If a patient isn’t in your clinic or seen by your team you’ve no business looking in their files EVER!

This has always happened but with a lot of health trusts going electronic for their records it's become easier to track who is accessing what and when. If you have access records that you have no business being in they will find out.

Just a thought, but could these staff members simply be researching the case to learn from the mistakes? If they didn’t share the information, only read it, is it that big a deal?

I’m understand this is bad but the whole of the nhs force have mandatory training on this case and I wonder if people were curious. The case is decribed in a lot of detail in the training and puts the nhs in a really bad light and I wonder if they are looking how the information was documented in the nhs side.
