Usually Confused About Whether You're Worth the Commitment He's Ready to Make! This might be difficult to hear, but I think it's a conversation we need to have. I've lost count of how many women have said, "He says he loves me, but he's confused." "He says he needs more time." "He says he doesn't know what he wants." And while there are exceptions, I've noticed that "I'm confused" is often less about genuine confusion and more about hesitation. A man can enjoy your company, care about you, be attracted to you, and still not be ready or willing to build a future with you. Here are some things worth paying attention to.👇 --- 1. HE KNOWS HOW TO MAKE DECISIONS IN EVERY OTHER AREA OF HIS LIFE He chose his career. He chose where to live. He chose his friends. He chose his hobbies. He makes decisions every single day. So if he's been "confused" about whether he wants to build a future with you for three years, it's worth asking whether he's actually confused... or simply comfortable keeping things exactly as they are. --- 2. HE ENJOYS THE BENEFITS OF A RELATIONSHIP WITHOUT HAVING TO COMMIT Why would he rush to define the relationship when he's already getting your time, your loyalty, your emotional support, and often the benefits of a committed relationship? For some people, staying "undecided" allows them to enjoy all the perks without accepting the responsibility that comes with commitment. --- 3. HIS ACTIONS DON'T MATCH HIS WORDS He says he sees a future with you. But he avoids conversations about timelines. He says he wants marriage one day. But every time you ask what the next step looks like, the conversation somehow changes. At some point, you have to stop listening to what he says and start looking at what he's consistently doing. --- 4. HE ASKS FOR MORE PATIENCE BUT CAN'T TELL YOU WHAT YOU'RE WAITING FOR There's nothing wrong with taking your time. Healthy relationships don't need to be rushed. But if someone keeps asking you to wait without giving you any clarity about where the relationship is actually going, you're not building a future together. You're simply standing still. --- 5. HE ONLY SEEMS "CONFUSED" WHEN COMMITMENT COMES UP One thing I've noticed is that some men seem perfectly certain about wanting to see you every weekend. They're certain about spending time together. They're certain about being intimate. They're certain about calling you when they need support. The confusion only appears when it's time to define the relationship or take the next step. That isn't usually confusion. It's reluctance. --- 6. HE KEEPS YOU HOPEFUL WITHOUT GIVING YOU CERTAINTY He'll say things like, "One day..." "When the timing is right..." "Let's not ruin what we have." Those words can keep someone waiting for years. Hope is a beautiful thing, but it should never replace clarity. --- 7. YOU FIND YOURSELF DOING ALL THE WAITING This is probably the biggest sign. You're waiting for him to be ready. Waiting for him to decide. Waiting for him to heal. Waiting for him to commit. Waiting for him to become the man he says he wants to be. Meanwhile, your own life is on pause. The right relationship should move forward together, not leave one person standing still while the other figures out whether they want to come along. --- One thing I've learned is that a man who truly wants to build a life with you doesn't usually leave you in a constant state of uncertainty. That doesn't mean everything happens overnight, but there should be consistent progress, honest conversations, and a shared vision for where the relationship is going. Don't spend years trying to decode mixed signals. Clarity is one of the greatest gifts someone can give you, and when it's missing for too long, that tells you something too. Do you think "I'm confused" is usually genuine, or is it often a way of avoiding commitment? 👇🏽
