As a Coloured woman, I carry within me a beautiful tapestry of history, including the deep roots of the Khoisan, and generations of cultures, people and stories that have shaped who we are today. I am proud of my mixed-race ancestry. Proud of the diversity that runs through my veins. Proud of the cultures that came together to create us. Our heritage may be complicated, our history may be painful, but our stories are powerful — and they deserve to be remembered, honoured and passed on. I am Coloured.
