@ltasg: What’s different about building this MRT tunnel? 👀 Usually, we build two separate tunnels for trains travelling in opposite directions. But for the first time in over 40 years of building MRT tunnels, we used a large-diameter Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) to build one large tunnel for both tracks, separated by a centre wall.🚇🚇 At about 12.6m in diameter, this massive TBM bored approximately 2.9km of the tunnel between the future Tampines North and Defu stations on the Cross Island Line.
