He was granted this home by the emperor. Remember he hasn’t been to her house, the first time would have been for tea but that was cancelled bc of the engagement was cancelled. I like how this show comes to full circle. She is now madam of her childhood resident, sad but at same time it holds so many good memories for her, her parents room, where she had tea with family.. etc..

all the time lin jinqi was happily smiling holding wife's hand and showing her the new home hoping to build a happy home with her while wife was bitterly remembering her family who was killed during the past emperor, totally different perspective... if jinqi knew he will not bring her back to that house... terribly missing her family
