Steps for a correct prayer (from the opening takbeer to the tasleem): Preparation: wudu, covering the awrah, and facing the qibla. Intention: intending the specific prayer in your heart without uttering it. Opening takbeer: saying “Allahu Akbar” while raising the hands level with the shoulders. Standing and recitation: reciting Surah al-Fatihah in every rak‘ah, and whatever you can of the Qur’an in the first two rak‘ahs. Ruku‘ (bowing): bending while placing the hands on the knees, saying “Subhana Rabbi al-‘Azim” three times, with tranquility.
