Breasts are naturally asymmetrical, so it’s common for one breast to have a different volume, shape or amount of tissue than the other from the outset. During breast reduction surgery, the aim is to achieve the closest symmetry possible by taking each breast’s individual anatomy into consideration. This can mean removing different amounts of tissue from the right and left breast. The final result will depend on each person’s individual anatomy, tissue characteristics and healing.
