@benedict.uhunagui: Retro News! Hon. Osawaru's Motion On The Benin Abraka Road Reflects a Vision Conceived Before His Election As a Federal Lawmaker. On the 8th of July, 2023, less than a month following his inauguration as a federal lawmaker, the Honorable member representing the good people of Orhionmwon Uhunmwode federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Chief Dr. Billy Adesuwa Osawaru, moved a motion on the deplorable state of the Benin Abraka road that traverses the length of Orhionmwon Local Government Area. While others were still grappling to find their feet, Hon. Osawaru had hit the ground running with this motion, which happens to be his second on the floor of the house in less than a month as a federal legislator. As a son of the soil and private citizen, Hon. Osawaru had decried the state of the road and made a vow that he would use the instruments of parliament to push for the rehabilitation of the road. True to his words, the motion was moved on the 8th of July, 2023, three weeks after his swearing-in as an Honourable member. Parts of the prayers of this motion urged the federal ministry works and housing and the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) to urgently rehabilitate and dualise the road. Hon. Osawaru didn't stop there, and beyond the motion, he sustainably interfaced with the Ministry of Regional Affairs and the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), which saw to the eventual construction of some parts of the Benin Abraka Road. There is still a lot of work to be done on that road, no doubt, Hon. Osawaru hasn't rested on his oars, using the tools and advocacy of parliament to get it fixed. With the support of the good people of Orhionmwon and Uhunmwode federal constituency as a would be ranking member, Hon. Osawaru will push for the completion of the Benin Abraka road. So when critics spew erroneous narratives, we understand it's coming from a place of ignorance about the duties and responsibilities of a federal legislator and a lack of awareness of the big moves, Hon. Osawaru is making.
