something I have had to come to terms with is that even when studying old texts misogyny is still a major factor and so many things were wrong because of it. i've been reading up on hellenistic astrology and most sources say the same thing. the moon is feminine because 'she' receives light from the sun and women are supposed to be the receivers. which begs the question, how far back do we have to go to get sources not polluted by men? was there ever a time?

I find it really interesting that traditional Chinese medicine and wisdom says us women are the sun as well, and we need heat to stay comfortable. We also make life like the sun so I still try to wrap my head around the moon and why we’re connected to it. It used to be part of earth before a collision made the moon

Love this breakdown. It's making me question Vedic beliefs too. Their belief is that the moon affects your mental state for all people. The moon and what sign it is in is a major axis on which their astrology is based. But it's feeling off to me, more and more

In my language we have feminine, masuline and in-between gender (androgynous?) sex for words. Moon (місяць) is masculine. Sun (Сонце) is intergender

I see the moon as local tool of the sun, almost like a concentrating lens that makes the energy softer to me, if that makes sense? bc yes we only see the moon bc of the sun, but the moon still does have a tangible effect on our lives, even as simple as how it affects the tides. also idk how coincidental vs by design that women's cycles nearly exactly line up with the number of moon phases too. I love your perspective and it's really made me think!
