My mom is a bus driver and it’s absolutely insane how many people go around her when the kids are getting off. It’s not that hard to wait three minutes. If you’re in a rush and know the kids are out then leave earlier it’s a simple concept.

As a part-time bus driver, I do the same thing, but that is illegal if a car hits that bus the bus driver is at fault because he’s on the wrong side of the road although I do it myself for safety of the kids

if you want your kids home before bedtime they might have to cross the street. teach your children to cross, drivers are watching from minimum of 3 mirrors.

This my kids are in first and second grade there stop is about 15 minutes from home they get dropped off at park he didn’t see my car the other day because I was running late he could have easily left them there he’s not mandated to wait for me especially because none of the kids are in kindergarten he could have easily dropped them off alone or took them back to school he waited I talked to him the next morning to thank him he said “I thought it was weird I didn’t see your car I called to see if you guys lived here maybe they had to walk home that day they said you were out of district so I didn’t feel comfortable leaving them I’ll always wait or call you I understand”

I walked to and from school and would still have a few busses block the real busy roads so I could cross because their was no crossing guard

We’re actually not supposed to cross the yellow lines. I wish people would stop for buses. You wouldn’t believe how often they ignore the flashing stop signs.

the idea is there, but here's my thing, you're putting the bus at an angle, which puts the warning lights and stop sign at an angle, and it puts the door of the bus instead of being on the side of the road, but in the lane

Must be a local issue my jurisdiction does not allow crossing the street for the bus even in residential areas. Maybe ask your school board to look into changing this!
