The reason I made this video is because so many people believe you HAVE to progressively overload every session when barely anyone knowledgeable has ever given that advice. they do tell you to progressively overload however they say OVERTIME which people mistake as every single session for every single movement. I have been a culprit of this too. I tell myself before the set I want to get this many reps because I got this many last session or I've been stuck on this weight however I simply cannot bring up the weight without messing up my form in some way shape or form. does it feed my ego? yes. am I really gaining anything from that last rep I forced? barely anything, probably more fatigue which will affect my sets later in my session and make it harder to recover for next session. let progressive overload come NATURALLY. Let it be a sign you are moving in the correct direction which is why people tell you to record your sets and look at them, why people say write down the weight and reps you did that session so that you can look at it OVERTIME and see improvements. if you are progressing on no exercises over a few sessions then we might have some issues, as I said on the last slide look at other factors or even your training. the solution will never be forcing more reps because that will just make it worse and the next session to get the same progression your form will deteriorate even more and it will be a never ending cycle until you decide its time for the great form reset and you decrease the weight on every single one of your exercises and humble yourself. #gym #optimal #progressiveoverload #hypertrophy #sciencebasedtraining
