@beadifficultemployee: If your boss tells you discussing your salary with coworkers is against company policy, ask them to show you that policy in writing. Because for most private-sector employees, conversations about wages and working conditions can be protected under federal labor law. That can include telling your coworker exactly what you make or comparing raises. There ARE exceptions and nuances, but your employer calling something “company policy” doesn’t automatically make it legal. And if someone tells you verbally that you can’t discuss your pay?
