I like the term Author, but not comfortable with the word "Creator"....what have we "Created"? A person making a delicious cake, we dont call them "Creator" of the cake. We use the word "Baker". Similarly making content is not "Creating". I am wishing for a better word to come along.

Brilliant as always! Original thinker. It’s interesting that the negative association follows the new term and has to be rebranded. But it can’t rebrand itself from its negative properties entirely. But I guess we accept it as something different each time. This can be from fatigue or denial.

for influencer > creator, its because the world realised you can have a ton of followers but actual low influence/ little valuable insights/low engagement rate. creators was a more accurate catch-all for micro/nano accounts, thought leaders, niche interests etc, instead of just having the term “influencer” being defined as someone with a mega following.
