@pinknews: Olympic queer figure skater Amber Glenn has opened up about her decision to pay homage to ‘Heated Rivalry’ on ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ On 16 September, Glenn and her dance partner Pasha Pashkov performed the tango to ‘All The Things She Said’ by Harrison, which fans may recall from a tense and emotionally charged scene between Ilya and Shane in ‘Heated Rivalry.’ The dance scored her first place, tied alongside actress and dancer Jenna Dewan. Prior to the performance, Glenn took to social media to explain why she wanted to pay homage to the show, and what ‘Heated Rivalry’ meant to her as a queer professional athlete. “Especially in like figure skating for me, it’s looked at as I had to be, a certain way, and it really just made me feel seen.” Glenn went on to say that watching ‘Heated Rivalry’, it meant “a lot to me to see athletes represented in queer media.” Given Glenn’s dance partner is a man, she said she wanted to reference the show “because I’m dancing with a man, I still want to represent my community.” She finished the video off by saying, “tonight’s really just an homage to the series that really made a huge impact on the community and the world.” Glenn won gold at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy, and she is also a three-time U.S. national champion. 📷 TT: amberglenniceskater #dancingwiththestars #amberglenn #heatedrivalry #olympics #lgbtqia🏳️‍🌈
