Day 68 of an intractable migraine attack. 💔 And I am exhausted in ways that I don’t even know how to explain. Since early childhood, I have suffered from debilitating migraine attacks, sometimes lasting for months, and after all these years, no doctor has been able to identify the root cause. I’ve tried countless medications, treatments, and home remedies. Right now, nothing is working. On Thursday, the pain became unbearable. I’ve been wanting to go to the emergency room for days, but I don’t have health insurance anymore. Six months ago, I had to leave my job because my health made it physically impossible to keep working. I’ve been unable to qualify for the assistance I need, and I cannot afford to risk another five-figure hospital bill just to get help. The last time I was hospitalized, I spent nearly a week there because they couldn’t get my pain under control. I went to the ER three times in three weeks before I was finally admitted. Now I’m sitting at home, icing my head, trying to survive pain that feels like someone is stabbing me through the back of my skull. And the hardest part? Feeling like I have nowhere to turn. I was born and raised in this country, yet I cannot afford the medical care I desperately need. I feel invisible. I feel forgotten. I feel like my life has been put on hold by a condition that nobody can explain and a healthcare system I cannot afford to access. I’ve prayed for healing my entire life. My mom prays for me. My church family prays for me. I pray and ask God to help me understand why I am still suffering when I have believed in His promises of healing for as long as I can remember. I know I’m called to trust Him even when I don’t understand. But I’m human, too. I’m exhausted. I’m hurting. And sometimes, I don’t understand how to keep carrying something this heavy. If you see me posting content, please know that much of it was batch-filmed last week on a lower-symptom day. What you see online is not always what someone is living through behind the scenes. Today, I’m waiting for a woman from my church to come pray over me. Until then, I’m going back to icing my head and trying to get through another moment of this pain. If you’ve never experienced a debilitating migraine, please understand that chronic migraine is not simply a headache. And if you have health insurance, access to emergency medical care, and the ability to seek treatment when you’re suffering, please never take that for granted. To anyone else living with chronic pain, intractable migraine, invisible illness, or medical bills you cannot afford: I see you. You are not alone. ❤️‍🩹 Please pray for me. I need relief, answers, and healing. #ChronicMigraine #MigraineAwareness #ChronicPain #InvisibleIllness #MedicalDebt
