@int.animalrescue: Her children ask why she keeps going out on patrol. “Is there another fire?” She explains that they need to keep watch. Because she knows what losing the forest would mean for the people living beside it. “If fires keep happening like this, every morning we’ll breathe smoke instead of fresh air.” She’s part of the Power of Mama, a team of women in Indonesia, many of them mothers, who are fighting fires and protecting the forests around their villages. Supported by our partners, YIARI, they patrol for hotspots, put out fires and help their communities prevent them. They want their children to grow up with fresh air, green forests and wildlife still living there. And they’re putting in the work to make that possible. We’d love more people to know about these women. Please share their story. The more people it reaches, the more chances we have to raise awareness and donations for the training and equipment that support their work. If you can’t donate, sharing is still a way to help. Let’s get their story out there.
