I’m reaching out, as I own a restoration business and I sympathetically restarted one last year, keeping most of the original panels and paint and didn’t have to remove the body! Coincidentally the same colour and also the owner lasts husbands so loads of sentimental value. So please reach out if you need our help….

Definitely get a 2nd opinion, don’t give up, any panel on these classic vw’s can be replaced, it will most likely be a long and an expensive project but it can be done, where abouts are you? We know some people that can have a look x

Metal is metal and metal can be fixed. You definitely need a second opinion. If the garage you've taken it to aren't VW savvy that is probably why they've said it's too far gone. Every part of a Beetle is available either new or second hand so there is no problem with bits, it's only metal. Feel free to dm me if you want some advise.

Keep her and restore her. she's a bug, everything is replaceable and she will still be your car. No point buying another and transferring things across, it will never be the same. Chin up and stick with her 🤗 🤗

I ain't gonna lie this is how my beetle is now 😅 but there's loads of ways around it. I know its not same but I buy cuts off other beetles to fix mine thats what I do

she'll still be her, there's not many bugs that aren't made from lots of little bits. find yourself a good welder . don't give up. can you find dry storage for her while you're away maybe?

They can be saved. Metal is metal the soul never goes. I restored my wife's and it was rusty and patched everywhere. it had all new panels and floors pans fitted. it didn't take away from the love my wife had for it. it saved it for another 50 years. Save it if you can, you clearly care for it so much.
