@johnstossel: Heard of the "woke right?" The words sound like opposites. James Lindsay describes them as "people on the right who act like the woke left." He says they're dangerous: #woke #farright #civilsociety #interview

Wokism is purely on the left. But right wingers are starting to speak out. The left is used to being listen to and not getting push back. It's gotten to the point that even people that were left are becoming centrist or leaning right.

Um, who is defining healthy society? Because it really depends who you ask.

He’s got it backwards. There’s no “right wing wokism”. In reality, left wing wokism can become as radicalized as right wing extremism. This isn’t an original idea either. Someone like College Homor or someone else made a video a long time ago about a woke leftist and a hardline racist saying the same things. The leftist would say “I think blacks should have their own space and the racist would smile and say “me too!”

That is the way if works. You cannot play this down the middle. Only one of the extremes is going to carry us through this stalemate we find ourselves in.

Historically, the United States had a mix of formal structural designs, informal political norms, and media gatekeeping mechanisms that collectively served as "guardrails" to keep extreme politics under control.Political scientists and historians largely agree that these guardrails did not vanish overnight under the Obama administration. Instead, a long-term erosion began decades prior, which culminated in a highly visible "tipping point" during the late 2000s and 2010s. Political extremists on both the far-left and far-right share deep cognitive and psychological similarities despite having opposing ideological goals.Recent research in cognitive science and psychology points to several core traits that define the extremist mindset.

The problem is that when you get to the point of white supremacy, nationalism, and antisemitism, it’s more of a left wing ideology, not right wing.
