Hey! I think you might be talking about the video I made. First, thank you for sharing more details about Tibi and their history as an independent label. I did not realize Tibi was still independent and I think it's wonderful that they are known for paying living wages, treating people well, etc. We need more of that in the fashion industry. I know being and staying independent is a rarity these days, and I have the utmost respect for the labels that are able to do so. When I saw those shorts (and I think this is what led to that video getting momentum I never anticipated), I looked at them as a consumer that feels fatigued by how expensive so many things have become. It felt like another example of a disconnect between high prices and items that don't seem to match that pricing. I appreciate you sharing the extra mile Tibi goes to in many different areas and I now understand I got elements of this wrong. That video was very much a one-off in terms of the kind of content I make, but I will absolutely do more research first on the individual brand if I ever make another one.

This is so relevant and important!! As someone who owns an independent label with my mom, we are extremely picky and almost never wholesale. We make everything locally in New York and are very intentional about our fabrics and pay livable wages across the board. The price of our garments reflects not only the quality of our clothing and cost to produce, but also the way in which we run our business. I also appreciate Tibi as a brand for the same reasons 👏

Needs to be said! I work with a small local team for my designs and it costs a lot of money to make something (rightfully so) in America. People are used to overseas prices and don’t understand the difference
