That's just the part of the reasons, there are many other things they did to cut corners while trying to make the movie aesthetically pleasing. For example people in the apocalypse don't look like they are in the apocalypse, they are too clean, everyone is emotionally stable, after they perform a big task in a hurt environment there is no sweating or sign of they pulled off something hard, just a shallow wound and a bit above the eyebrows. They are so ridiculously slow to react or do much when they being attacked by monsters that would make you think how did they survive this long which movie studio compensate that they have a main character that usually saves them all or weapons that seems unlimited and somehow effective like the monster was never attacked before after killing dozens or thousands of soldiers

Fun fact about that scene from Indiana Jones, though. He was actually supposed to have a really big fight scene with that guy, but I guess he was either tired or he wasn’t feeling well that day or something and so he said to the Director, can’t I just shoot him? And the director thought it was funny so they just did that.

I can't stand watching any movie made after 2016 anymore... it's honestly a complete waste of time. I much prefer movies from the 90s and early 2000s.

As a writer, too many directors are no longer storytellers. They’ve become preachers. Instead of trusting the audience to watch a story, interpret it, wrestle with it, and come to their own conclusions, everything has to be spelled out. We have to be told exactly what to think, what to feel, who is right, who is wrong, and what lesson we’re supposed to take away. And unfortunately, I’d include Jordan Peele in that criticism. I know his films have plenty of fans, but they’re some of the biggest examples of this problem. The message becomes so heavy-handed that it overwhelms the storytelling, and I end up finding the films more preachy than compelling. Give me characters. Give me conflict. Give me subtext. Give me something to think about afterward. Trust your audience enough to let us figure it out. Rant over.

The pristine sets also give a sterile look to shows and films now. Everyone’s home is far too tidy (I’m not talking about broken or dirty), but things aren’t just left around. Everything is in its place and maybe one thing is just placed out but it’s usually the character defining prop (a guitar for a musician, a physics book for a scientist, etc). It’s all looks like they rented an IKeA and had to keep the perfect set ups.
