A recorded phone call is adding to the speculation in the disappearance of Lynette Hooker. In the recently released audio, her husband Brian Hooker describes the night his wife vanished, claiming she fell overboard from a dinghy near the Bahamas in rough conditions as daylight faded on April 4. Speaking to Blaine Stevenson, a friend in the sailing community, Hooker recounts trying to reach Lynette and the search efforts that followed involving the Coast Guard and Bahamian authorities. Stevenson says Hooker didn’t know he was being recorded. He later released it publicly, saying he wanted others in the sailing community to assess whether the account made sense and to help narrow search efforts. Brian Hooker was released from Bahamian police custody after five days on April 13. No charges were filed against him. Lynette Hooker remains missing.
