Carney's Lies, the European Union, and Associate Status We are being told about a possible rapprochement with the European Union and even associate member status. However, no official document detailing this status has yet been presented to Canadians. Who will draft the terms of this association? What will Canada's commitments be? What will the consequences be for our sovereignty, our laws, our economy, our currency, and our immigration and defense policies? These are questions that deserve answers. A closer association with the European Union could also lead to legal or economic constraints and expose us more to the decisions and crises affecting the European market. It is therefore essential to understand the advantages, but also the risks, before making any commitments. What is Carney's complete plan? Will he act like a communist or a democrat? Will Canadians have access to a detailed document? Will Parliament be able to debate it publicly? Will the public be consulted before any significant commitments are made? For me, a true democracy must allow citizens to know the terms of such an agreement and to have their say on such a significant change in Canada's relationship with Europe. Do the government's decisions primarily serve the interests of Canada and Canadians? Carney and Brookfield are questions that deserve to be examined publicly. Personal interests or those of large corporations should never take precedence over the public interest. I am defending Canada, not a political party, whether Liberal or Conservative; my approach will be the same. I do not want our country to be absorbed or lose its ability to decide its own future, whether by the United States, the European Union, or any other power. Before accepting an association that could transform our economic, legal, or political relations with Europe, let's give Canadians all the information and allow for a genuine democratic debate. Our country belongs to all of us. Our future must be decided by Canadians.
