@prosperx7official: Attaching a wooden handle to a hammer, axe, or similar tool head requires careful fitting and wedging to keep the head secure and properly aligned. The standard method begins by shaping the end of the handle (the tenon) so it fits snugly into the eye of the metal head. A kerf, or slot, is cut into the top of the handle. The handle is then driven into the head until the shoulder seats firmly and the head sits square. A wooden wedge is driven into the kerf, expanding the wood tightly against the inside of the eye. Many craftsmen then drive one or more metal wedges across or at an angle to the wooden wedge for extra holding power. The excess is trimmed flush. #hammer #technique #technology
