@iamtali4: ⚠️🚨 After Typhoon 25 Dujuan brought destructive rain, flooding and landslides to parts of Kanto, another typhoon is approaching Japan ⚠️🚨 Typhoon 26 Surigae is forecast to strengthen, with its track next week one to watch closely. As of Thursday, September 24 at 3 PM JST, Surigae was east of the Philippines, moving west with maximum sustained winds of 20 m/s. JMA expects it to strengthen significantly over the weekend, reaching “strong” typhoon status by Saturday, September 26. The forecast brings it closer to Okinawa around Sunday, September 27 and Monday, September 28, before turning northeast toward the waters south of Japan. For Tokyo and Kanto, the timing and potential impacts are still uncertain. Given the storms accelerated development and destructive potential, Japan Meteorological Agency is urging residents nationwide to complete disaster preparations, such as securing outdoor items over the weekend before the severe weather arrives.
