@simonsinek: "I'm an anxious person." "I'm an avoidant." "I'm just bad at this." Listen to how you describe yourself for a day. Then count how many of those start with "I am." As a psychotherapist, Amy Morin tells clients to try trading the being verb for a habit—“I have a tendency to,” “I do this sometimes.” It sounds like a technicality, but it isn't. A tendency is something you can change next time. An identity is something you live up to. What's one "I am" you'd swap? the 6pm gym is not a reason to skip. it is a reason to have backups written down, because the thing that actually ruins a busy session is standing beside an occupied machine deciding what to do. every movement in this plan has two alternatives listed. chest press taken? pec deck. that taken too? dumbbells. you never stop moving and you never stand still looking like you are waiting for permission. the rule that matters most: never wait more than thirty seconds. skip it, do something else, come back. order does not matter at all — you are doing four movements and the sequence is irrelevant to the result. and cables are the escape hatch. most gyms have more cable stations than anything else, and almost every machine movement has a cable equivalent. when the machine section is full, the cable area usually is not.

"mind if i work in?" is a sentence everyone in that building has heard a thousand times. it is not an imposition. last slide is the whole week plus every backup. Here is the whole 3-day plan written out, so you do not have to swipe back and forth in the gym: Push — Day 💪 Chest press, pec deck, shoulder press + rope pushdown. Pull — Day 🦾 Lat pulldown, seated row, rear delt fly + curl machine. Legs — Day 🦵 Leg press, leg extension, seated leg curl + calf raise. Never wait more than 30 seconds. Order does not matter. Work in, or ask how many sets left. Cables are always free-ish. A plan with backups is a plan you can run at 6pm on a Monday. Save this so you know exactly what to do on your next session — and send it to the mate who keeps saying he'll start Monday. 🫶 what time do you go? #mensfitness #machineworkout #newtogym #gymanxiety #gymtips
